The north side is the Etna few people know: you climb from Linguaglossa through the Ragabo pinewood to Piano Provenzana (1,800 m), among the 2002 lava flows that swallowed the old station. From there the local operators' 4x4 buses take you to 2,920 m: an easy walk along the rim of the 2002 craters (about an hour and a half at altitude, 100 m of climb), the 1809 crater, Piano delle Concazze and the view over the summit craters and the sea. Departures at 10:30, 12:00 and 13:30 — we build your transfer around them. 4x4 tickets: official operator prices, €69 adults and €50 children 4–12, paid on site. The authorised volcanological guide is included in the 4x4 ticket.
